Fantastic Tablet
Date:October 1, 2013
This tablet is fantastic. It simply does everything I want a tablet to do. I am extremely excited about the countless options I now have available to me through this tablet. The only down-side is my granddaughter loves using it so much that I don't get a chance to use it as much as I would like.

This is my first tablet in my life, so I cannot really make a comparison to any other tablets out there. So far from what I have seen, I think it is worth the money I paid for. But, I still wonder why there is only 11 GB storage available, although it says 'Unlocked 16GB Xperia Tablet Z.' All the initial installments and system stuff take space of 5 GB? Again, I had no other tablets before, so I don't know if it is a general tablet thing. If anyone has an answer for this, please let me know. I really want to know why. Other than the missing 5GB, I am very satisfied with this.

I currently have an iPad 4, which is a great tablet but I must say it is kind of a boring tablet compared to the new tablets that have been coming out lately. Don't great me wrong it's main function is outstanding, but it's nothing that will light up your eye balls either as far as graphics and being fun. It is a straight forward tablet (all business and no play). The down side of iPads is that all the memory is internal (so you better get the big boy if you plan on eating up gigabytes 64gb-128gb) although apple does offer a an option of extra memory called "iCloud" which you have to pick a data plan (memory plan) and for each plan costs more money (way more expensive then SD CARDS) and the data plan is only good one year. So if you plan to keep your iCloud memory alive you got to pay Apples iCloud fee every year, can you say "RIP OFF." Apple does this instead of using an SD Card port is mainly to keep the business in the family. So to get to my point and answer your question is that the Sony Xperia Z tablet comes with 16gb of internal memory with an option of adding an SD Card which can range from 2gb-64gb of memory and you can buy and add as much memory your heart desires. SD Cards can be swopped out and added to different devices and SD Cards can be copied and shared with friends an family "YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THAT!!!!" I do not know how the Sony Xperia Z works but I will tell you I'm thinking of selling my iPad for a tablet that offers SD Card expansion port. Like I said previously Apple designs their products to keep the business and money in the family. They are all business just like their products and do not quit frankly care bout their customers. Well I hope this helps answer your question, I am not sure how old this review is but I figured I would offer a helping hand.

Hi,
Yes the same happens in a lot of tablets. Ipads, other android tablets.
It's a very well-known (amongst electronic enthusiasts) but not advertised issue. That's the operating system taking up space.
An extreme example of this is, the 1st gen Windows Surface Pro 64GB (costed about $899 when it first came out). About 23 GB was taken up by full Windows O.S 8.0, giving the user only 41 GB worth of space to install other applications, and save docs/music/movies etc.

Best Tablet In The World

This tablet has everything you can imagine.it has NFC, Bluetooth, wifi, and much more. One thing about this tablet is you'll never have to worry about accidentally drops in water. I've searched for months looking for a great tablet and I've finally found one. The one thing that secured my purchase was the fact that it has all the hardware currently on the market, what this means is that for the future all I have to do is update the software.
